This painting draws on the native palette of the Surf Coast bushland—deep greens of dense foliage, flashes of ochre earth, and the unexpected pink of flowering gums in bloom. Energetic marks pulse through the composition, echoing the rhythm and movement of wind through trees or a bird's sudden flight. The work balances structure and spontaneity, capturing both the grounded stillness and wild vitality of place.

As part of the Spectra exhibition at Rydges Melbourne, this piece transports elements of the natural landscape into the architectural space of the hotel. It brings a sensory connection to the bush—offering colour, motion and atmosphere that contrast with, yet complement, the textures of the built environment.
