Rowena Martinich is a Surfcoast based artist, renowned for her use of radiant colour in abstract expressionist paintings and public art. Rowena paints in a multitude of architectural contexts; embellishing foyers, commercial interiors, entire building facades, transitory spaces as well as residential interiors.
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery united to present ‘Hop for Hope’ – a collaborative art exhibition raising funds to keep children safe from violence and bullying. Nestled amongst the picturesque views of the Yarra Valley, the Hop for Hope exhibition showcased 40 larger than life-size kangaroos designed and created by iconic Australian artists and identities. Artists were given the theme of ‘hope’ to create their kangaroos, with each artist interpreting hope in their own unique way. Rowena Martinich was one of the artists invited to paint a kangaroo to be exhibited as part of this event.
