Working as a diptych with Ochre Trace, this painting draws from the parched beauty of late summer on the Surf Coast, where ochre grasses catch the last warmth of the sun, and long shadows fall across the land. Dusk Light captures a fleeting moment of stillness and intensity, when colour flares and fades across the horizon. Gestural sweeps of pigment reflect the raw texture of dry earth, while translucent overlays suggest the lingering softness of light before nightfall.
