The Secret Garden @ QT Melbourne

Chromaoasis transforms QT Melbourne’s rooftop Secret Garden into an immersive field of colour, movement and surprise. Conceived in response to the garden’s hidden location, the mural reveals itself gradually, shifting as visitors move through the space and offering a different composition from every angle.

Luminous colour, fluid gestures and sweeping organic lines move across the architecture, creating a vivid contrast with the industrial structure of the rooftop and the surrounding city skyline. The work softens the hard edges of the built environment while drawing the garden together as one continuous visual experience.

Rather than sitting simply on the surface, Chromaoasis changes the atmosphere of the rooftop. Colour spills across walls and structures, creating rhythm, energy and a sense of escape from the grey urban landscape beyond. The result is a place that feels more immersive, more unexpected and more distinctly QT.

The project reflects the hotel’s confident, expressive approach to design and hospitality, using art to heighten mood, define identity and transform an everyday rooftop into a memorable destination. At the time, QT Melbourne also presented Prismatic Thread, a complementary exhibition of Martinich’s paintings within the hotel.
