Rowena Martinich is a Surfcoast based artist, renowned for her use of radiant colour in abstract expressionist paintings and public art. Rowena paints in a multitude of architectural contexts; embellishing foyers, commercial interiors, entire building facades, transitory spaces as well as residential interiors.
Chromablitz is a public work spanning three sites in the City of Greater Dandenong. The Dandenong Market, the Drum Theatre and the Thomas St carpark. Commissioned by the city, Chromablitz is an explosion of gestural colour encapsulated in shards of vinyl that splay across the glass surfaces of these buildings.
